The National Convention and Exhibition Center is a large-scale convention and exhibition complex project jointly decided by the Ministry of Commerce of the China and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government in Co-determination, with a total investment of about 16 billion yuan, which is invested, constructed and operated by the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

The total construction area of the National Convention and Exhibition Center is 1.47 million square meters. Among them, the above ground area is 1.27 million square meters, integrating various formats such as exhibitions, conferences, events, commerce, offices, hotels, etc. It is currently the world's largest single building and exhibition complex. The main building is shaped with a four leaf clover that stretches and is soft, adopting an axis symmetrical design concept. The design reflects many Chinese elements and is one of the iconic buildings in Shanghai.

Located in the west of the core area of Shanghai Hongqiao Business District, it is only 1.5 kilometers away from the Hongqiao transportation hub in a straight line. It is closely connected to Hongqiao Railway Station and Hongqiao Airport through air corridors, underground passages, and Metro Line 2. The surrounding highway network is accessible in all directions, and it takes 1-2 hours to reach major cities in the Yangtze River Delta. It takes 2-3 hours by air to directly reach major economic cities in the Asia Pacific region.

Large exhibition area

The National Convention and Exhibition Center has an exhibition area of 500000 square meters, including an indoor exhibition hall of 400000 square meters and an outdoor exhibition hall of 100000 square meters. The complex consists of 16 exhibition halls, including 13 large exhibition halls with a unit area of 30000 square meters and 3 multi-functional exhibition halls with a unit area of 10000 square meters, which can be accessed directly by trucks. Super load-bearing capacity

The four major exhibition halls (Hall 1, 2, 3, and 4.1) in the northern part of the first floor have a ground load of up to 5 tons per square meter, making them the most load-bearing exhibition halls in the world. The ground load of four double-layer exhibition halls on the first floor (Hall 5.1, 6.1, 7.1, 8.1) and one small exhibition hall (North Hall) is 3.5 tons per square meter. The ground load of the five large exhibition halls on the second floor (Hall 4.2, 5.2, 6.2, 7.2, 8.2) and two small exhibition halls (East Hall and West Hall) is 1.5 tons per square meter. Even heavy machinery with the highest requirements for load-bearing capacity in exhibition halls can be easily loaded in national exhibitions.

Ultra high display space

Halls 1 to 3 of the National Convention and Exhibition Center are all single-story columnless exhibition halls, with a length of 270 meters, a dome span of 108 meters, and a net height of 32 meters. Hall 4-8 is a double-layer large exhibition hall, with a clear height of 12 meters and a column network of 27x36 meters in the first floor; The second floor exhibition hall has a net height of 17 meters and a column grid of 54x36 meters. The entire exhibition hall only has 8 columns. The unparalleled display space provides unlimited possibilities for the high-quality presentation of exhibitors' images.

The National Convention and Exhibition Center has three multi-functional venues with an area of nearly 10000 square meters, a 10000 square meter The Centrium, a 100000 square meter outdoor exhibition hall, and many other spaces and venues that are rich in change, suitable for holding various scale commercial promotion, artistic performances, annual forum meetings, cultural exhibitions, fashion entertainment and other activities. The performance hall "Hongguan" located in the East Hall has a total area of 10000 square meters and nearly 8000 seats. It is the largest cultural and entertainment performance platform in the Hongqiao area, meeting the needs of large and medium-sized performances while also providing exhibition and conference services.

In addition, the National Convention and Exhibition Center also has rich conference venues and an advanced conference organization system, which can easily handle small gatherings of dozens of people to large international conferences.
